My new website/blog (this one!) is now live for the whole world to see… as you can see! I’ve been a very bad blogger up til now *slaps wrist*, but I promise to be more active from now on. I know I’m not the only person to be overly excited by the launch of the Wacom Inkling next month. I’ve never properly used a graphics tablet for illustrating, mainly because my co-ordination leaves me when I draw on one surface and the drawing appears on another. I may as well be trying to draw with my foot, such are the results. If I really invested the time in getting used to it, then I’m sure I could master the little devil eventually. I’ve recently started exchanging mail art with Jessica Gowling (@jessicagowling), a particularly lovely printmaker and visual artist from Canada, my very favourite place. A couple of days ago I received my very first package from her. When I receive mail art, I find the couple of minutes between finding the envelope and opening it really exciting, while I wait to find out what’s inside. This is Wonder Pony, my latest project nearing completion. She still needs a few touch-ups, and is missing her lassoo (where did I put that superglue!?!), but otherwise you can see her here in all her fiddly, primary colour glory.
