We’ve had a lovely evening at the launch of the Cardiff Design Festival, at the Bay’s Senate building. Although we didn’t make the shortlist, there’s a collection of great designs on display, so I’d recommend you go take a look if you can. I’m looking forward to taking part in some of the other festival events over the next few weeks.

My dear cat, now rather old, has been to the vet fir some blood tests. She’s rather unimrpessed with her shaved leg and neck, and is protesting by claiming the armchair as her own while blankly ignoring everyone and everything. It must be such a hard life for a well loved domestic cat, what with all the sleeping and eating.

I’ve been having a bit of a play with vizualize.me, a site that lets you ‘Vizualize your resume in one click’ to create an infographic style version of the info on your Linkedin profile. Still in beta stage, I first had a look at it a month or so ago when I managed to bag myself an early access invitation, and I immediately saw its potential. I’ve had my Galaxy Tab for a week now, and I’ve only just discovered the ‘Drawing Pad’ app that was preloaded onto it for me. This ‘illustration’ isn’t going to win any awards, but it was a successful little test, and compared to ‘PaintJoy Pro’ (which was also preloaded) the range of tools available in ‘Drawing Pad’ is actually pretty impressive. With pen, pencil, crayon and paint textures, shaped ‘stamps’, ‘stickers’ and patterned papers, I can actually see myself wasting many an hour with this app. I may need to acquire a stylus, though, instead of bumbling through with my [...]
