About me

Hi! This is me. I’m Sarah.

Most people know me as @scjammycustard, and as the Creative Director of Jammy Custard Studios Ltd, but as you’re here, you may also know me as my alter ego; Purple Pepper. This is my personal blog, where I talk about random things, and share with you my illustrations, digital art and, most recently, photography. There is also likely to be a lot of LEGO.

So, since you’re here, I’ll tell you a little more about myself…

I was born in Pontypridd twenty-something years ago, and made it through school relatively unscathed, whereupon I packed my bags and legged it over the bridge to Swindon to do my degree with the University of Bath. I stayed in Swindon for 8 years, before moving back home in October last year. I brought a souvenir back with me, and we were married last April at Castell Coch. It didn’t rain.

Since graduating I’ve worked as a print designer for a successful design agency and as part of an inhouse creative department for the UK’s largest direct marketing book club, managing and editing both their member magazines and e-commerce websites. I’ve been lucky enough to work with high profile clients such as Honda, Arval, Stanley Security Solutions, Great Western Railway, The University of Reading, and The Royal Artillery. I won’t bore you any more with the details – if you want to know more about me from a professional standpoint you can head on over to my Linkedin profile. These days I’m over at Jammy Custard Studios Ltd, where much fun is to be had making businesses irresistible with effective branding, design, marketing, websites and videos (among other things!) We also play with LEGO.

I also have a tendency to collect qualifications (yes, I’m one of those – sorry). I have diplomas in Marketing, Advertising and Business Management, and in other not-so-career-relevant but very interesting subjects such as Advanced Psychology, Basic Philosophy and Criminology.

Most importantly, though, I have a penchant for horror films and impractical shoes, and a distinct weakness for sushi and whiskey, though rarely together (bad experiences…), and, as if you hadn’t guessed… LEGO!

Please feel free to leave a comment below to let me know who you are, what brought you here and what you think of my little collection of randomness.

    1. The Celestial Scribe says:

Dear PP: This is just to say hello and ” I visited your page”. I´m the IUOMA scribe, a celestial one. I´m writing to you from Republik van Patland, a tiny territory miles from nowhere in the Milky Way. As soon as receiving yours, a celestial piece of mail art that is already cooking will be sent to you from City of Peace, the capital city of Patland. You will be able to post that due to your new activity, mail art, you are now in contact with a heavenly-born scribe. Doesn´t sound impressive, does it?
