White Water

February 1, 2012 in Photography, Slideshow

A couple of weeks ago I visited Cardiff’s White Water Rafting centre, and promised to share a couple of my photos with you. I’m still getting to grips with the many settings on my DSLR, but I did manage to get some half decent shots. Here’s a few of my favourites…

Gwynfa Mini-photomarathon 2011

July 22, 2011 in Photography, Slideshow

The summer ‘holidays’ from Gwynfa Camera Club means a weekly gathering in the pub for activities like quizzes, a ‘Tacky Trophy’ award night and a ‘Mini-Photomarathon’, inspired by the annual Cardiff Photomarathon. I decided (not surprisingly) to have a theme in my set this year – LEGO! And here are my prizes; a can of Coke for best ‘Icon’ image, a pack of index tabs for ‘On The Corner’ and a bottle of (rather nice) wine for being the overall winner. Go me!

Cardiff Photomarathon 2011

June 13, 2011 in Photography

On Saturday 11th June, 400 photographers took part in Cardiff’s Photomarathon. A Photomarathon is a photograph competition with a twist: Over 12 hours you have to take 12 pictures on 12 given topics. It’s not your physical condition, but your sense of improvisation, fun and creativity that is stressed throughout the Photomarathon. And when they say marathon, they’re not joking! It was utterly exhausting, but totally enjoyable. You can read my full account of the day alongside @mcjammycustard over on the Jammy Custard Photomarathon Blog. And here are my finished ‘masterpieces’…

Ballistic Bovine

Another trip out today to practice with my relatively new camera, this time to the common in Llantrisant. And, again, I managed to get chased by the resident animals. This time… cows! This photography lark is hazardous.
