Cardiff Photomarathon 2011

June 13, 2011 in Photography

On Saturday 11th June, 400 photographers took part in Cardiff’s Photomarathon. A Photomarathon is a photograph competition with a twist: Over 12 hours you have to take 12 pictures on 12 given topics. It’s not your physical condition, but your sense of improvisation, fun and creativity that is stressed throughout the Photomarathon. And when they say marathon, they’re not joking! It was utterly exhausting, but totally enjoyable. You can read my full account of the day alongside @mcjammycustard over on the Jammy Custard Photomarathon Blog. And here are my finished ‘masterpieces’…

Ballistic Bovine

Another trip out today to practice with my relatively new camera, this time to the common in Llantrisant. And, again, I managed to get chased by the resident animals. This time… cows! This photography lark is hazardous.

Castell Caerphilly

My Dad very recently gave me his old CAJOJ Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR Camera, and today I took it out for the first time to practice. As we were getting rare glimpses of the sun (in between very grey clouds) we decided to find somewhere scenic pretty quickly. We ended up at Castell Caerphilly, where I was soon chased by geese. I did manage to get a handful of decent shots before running away, though.
