Mail Art Monday: Ninjas like buttons

August 27, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Well, after last week’s bumper edition of Mail Art, this bank holiday I don’t have a whole lot to show you! Not in quantity, anyway, but the quality of the stuff I’ve received make up for it, and will hopefully brighten your day as they did mine (even if the heavens have opened upon the UK ‘summer… again). I’ll start off, as always, with the Outgoing mail that arrived at new homes this past week… OUTGOING Jon Foster received this card, which I simply titled ‘Shout’. Tarah – Miss Thundercat (Canada) received an envelope made from newspaper, filled with Mail Art materials. I also [...]

Mail Art Monday: Nuts

July 30, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Here we are again, at the start of another week, and I have lots of new mail art to show you!     OUTGOING First off, a bit of ‘serious mail’ made art with this mailer to Parcelforce, decorated with rubber stamps and coloured pencils.     This week I also sent some more FREEPOST Experiments to Andy Hoang‘s plot at Real this week, that went into the postbox just in time for the closing party on Wednesday. First off was a sample tube with a dice inside, sent with the address written on the original label. Don’t really know where my syringe-like [...]

Mail Art Monday: Harmony

July 23, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

It’s monday, the sun is shining (quick, everybody outside!), and I have another collection of Mail Art to show you.   OUTGOING So, to kick off here’s a card that went off to Arac in the US. Arac always knows how to make me smile, so I thought I’d send her some ‘entertainment’ this time. Who knows what’s going on inside that place? The back of the card is guarded by Lego Batman on his jetski. Obviously. Katerina Nikoltsou (Greece) is known for her love of Blue, so this ‘harmony card’ could only be for her. Marie Wintzer (Japan) received [...]

Mail Art Monday: Experiments & Exchanges

July 16, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Here we are again – another Monday. I’m not going to mention the weather, or the ‘r’ word. I’m boycotting it. This week, my Mail Art coming-and-goings have been dominated by two things – the second IUOMA Arty Slide exchange, and Andy Hoang’s plot at ‘Real’. OUTGOING The first Arty Slide artist to receive slides from me was Angie Cope in the US, who received these two ‘transparent’ slides… … and this bonus ATC (artist trading card) tag. Valentine Mark Herman, France, received these two… … along with another ATC tag. This one is currently in the hands of Val’s [...]

Mail Art Monday: $75 for a Heatwave

July 9, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

I’ve given up hope for any sort of warm weather this year, but signs of summer are definitely creeping in to some of the mail art I’ve been receiving this week, from heat-waves and sweltering cats to bright blue skies and bikes. Here’s the mail that’s been going from and to my mailbox this week… OUTGOING I sent this ‘leather’ themed card to Harry Lock in South Africa a couple of months ago, and feared that it had fallen foul of the postal journey. Thankfully it did arrive, and Harry has sent a reply that arrived this week, which you can see [...]

Mail Art Monday: Super Warewolves

April 2, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

It’s been another busy week for the postal service around the world, and I’ve had many ‘Good Mail Days’. OUTGOING I started the week off with a big MIAOW for Erni Bär, made from an old ad. It got a bit battered on its way over to Germany… maybe someone dared to try and put the cat back in the bag and a claw fight to the death ensued. You never know. A reply went out to Jim SantAmour in the US, who sent a photograph postcard to me a couple of weeks ago. I made this postcard out of the same ad as the [...]
