Mail Art Monday: December Catchup

November 18, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

It’s been a while since my  last Mail Art Monday post, and I’ve had a lot of catching up to do! Work commitments have left me with no time to blog, but I did steal some minutes to post out some Mail Art over the past month, and together with the masses of wonderful mail I’ve received I have LOTS to show you! Please forgive me for not writing much about some of these – they are all VERY appreciated, and I have enjoyed receiving and studying them all. But, y’know, it’s Christmas Eve, and there’s a lot to get through. So [...]

Mail Art Monday: Wonder Roadkill

September 17, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Welcome to another Mail Art Monday! OUTGOING Lindsay Stewart‘s (Canada) first postcard to me showed a sense of humour similar to my own, so I sent this reply off to her hoping that she’d see the funny side! Lynn Radford (USA) received a rather happy looking bee – and why wouldn’t he be happy?! Look at all those flowers! Martha W Bush received this bright ‘Quiet tonight’ postcard. And finally Alicia Starr (USA) was the recipient of this postcard based on a cartoon strip called ‘Yobs’. INCOMING New friend Judy Staroscik (USA) sent a cute stripy envelope full of treasures from Judy, a new [...]

September 10, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Hello! Here we are, another Monday, which means more mail art! OUTGOING Arriving at new homes this week … Janine Weiss received this package filled with Arty Slides, collages, a sketch and some art supplies. Meanwhile, Amy Irwen received this first BuddyJam ATC, while I kept the second for my own collection. You can see the ATCs as they were, when Amy sent them my way in this post. Last week I announced that  Zombie Kitty Kawaii! had arrived for her stay here in Wales. She was a little neglected during the week – accompanying me to work she had to amuse [...]

Mail Art Monday: Bumper Edition

August 20, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Regular readers might have noticed that there was no Mail Art Monday post last week. That’s because time ran away with me, work got hectic, and I just didn’t get the chance… sorry about that! There is a silver lining though… this week’s post is a bumper edition! OUTGOING Katerina Nikoltsou (Greece) received some of her beloved blue, this time in the form of a Trashpo colour study. Suus in Mokum (Amsterdam), glen e. lizardi f. (Chile) and Terrie Purkey (USA) received slices of this collage… … while Nadine Wendell-Mojica , Vizma Bruns (Australia), James Chester and Thom Courcelle (USA) each received a quarter of this trashpo collage. Good friend [...]

Mail Art Monday: Adventures

June 18, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

The rain is still here (*sigh*), but a faux summer has been brightening up my mailbox. Here’s a roundup of both the outgoing and incoming art this past week. OUTGOING Niklas Heed sent me an envelope a couple of weeks ago covered in some great artistamps, and enclosed some postcards inside as ‘filler’. I assured him that I’d be able to put these cards to good use, and here’s the result! It made its way over to Niklas in Sweden in super-quick time. Carina Granlund received this CD case insert, which arrived rather battered and bruised – only the centre circle made [...]

Mail Art Monday: Plastic, music and a swearing rodent

June 11, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Things are finally starting to get back to normal after the wonderfully long bank holiday, a two day working week and a beer festival. So, I start off my long, 5 days of work with a rather awesome collection of art that’s been whizzing around the globe this past week. OUTGOING First off, 3 postcards made from a large collage found their way to Suus in Mokum (Netherlands), Laura Daniels and Stripygoose (both in the UK). Valentine Mark Herman received a set of 4 game themed Arty Slides for display in his upcoming exhibition in Sigean, France. Pen-pal Christa Sagmoe in the US received my [...]

Mail Art Monday: Jubilation

June 4, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

This week has ended with lots of parties and celebrations, with Union Jacks coming out of our ears. And, thankfully, my mailbox has woken from its slumber, with a number of exciting and inspirational pieces arriving. So without further ado… OUTGOING Jessica Gowling and Jeannine Saylor, both in Canada, received these Jubilee themed packages, packed full of Union Jacks, newspaper clippings and stickers. The main ingredients, though, were the medals featuring the official Diamond Jubilee logo, and engraved on the back with their names. The girls were really pleased with these, and I’m so glad they arrived just in time [...]

Mail Art Monday: Stitched

May 7, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Another busy week for postie, and along with Royal Mail’s price hike, they seem to have upped their game with delivery too! Some super fast postage has been going on all over the world for my humble little mail art cards. OUTGOING An exception to the fast delivery theory, Vizma Bruns in Australia finally received my third and final sketch sent from our holiday a couple of weeks ago. This one is of the Marble Church at Bodelwyddan. Vizma also received this Wonder Woman embroidered card that I sent a week or so after the first card. Vizma shares my [...]

Mail Art Monday: Magic

April 30, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Hello again! Don’t Mondays come around quickly? Here we are again with the lowdown on my Mail Art comings and goings this week. OUTGOING I started off the week with a ‘lucky’ card for Jennifer Ley in the US. Everyone needs a little luck now and again! While on holiday in Scotland just over a week ago, I sketched 3 postcards of the beautiful scenery around me and popped them straight into the postbox. 2 of these have already arrived at their new homes. Katerina Nikoltsou received this sketch of Loch Lomond… … while Thom Courcelle received a sketch drawn [...]
