The summer ‘holidays’ from Gwynfa Camera Club means a weekly gathering in the pub for activities like quizzes, a ‘Tacky Trophy’ award night and a ‘Mini-Photomarathon’, inspired by the annual Cardiff Photomarathon. I decided (not surprisingly) to have a theme in my set this year – LEGO! And here are my prizes; a can of Coke for best ‘Icon’ image, a pack of index tabs for ‘On The Corner’ and a bottle of (rather nice) wine for being the overall winner. Go me!

… of a very, very long day at Cardiff’s Photomarathon. 12 hours to take 12 photos based on the 12 topics distributed throughout the day. Managed to get all 12 done and submitted in 10 hours, leaving plenty of time for some well needed rest and a couple of drinks. When they say Photomarathon, they mean marathon. Utterly exhausting, but a great day, and I will definitely take part again. I will post the other 11 images in a blog tomorrow, along with the themes they depict, but for now, goodnight! Yesterday, the Comic Expo brand hosted their 1st ever convention in Wales, at Cardiff’s Mercure Holland House Hotel. Sponsored by Forbidden Planet International, guests included Kris Carter (Transformers / Torchwood), Matt Savage (Dark Knight / Kickass), Declan Shalvey (28 Days Later) and Dylan Teague (Judge Dredd), among many, many others. I wouldn’t say I’m a die-hard comic fan, although I do own a fair amount of Graphic Novels (and we all know about my Wonder Woman ‘thing’).
