Mail Art Monday: Great Expectations

January 7, 2013 in Mail Art, Slideshow

I’m finally recovering from the lurgy that’s held me hostage since New Year’s Eve, and am back in the driving seat. I won’t go on about making New Year Resolutions and promising to blog more this year… that’d just be setting myself up for a fall, and I don’t want blogging to become a chore. I should blog more often, but then I should be doing a lot of things that I never seem to have the time or energy to implement. So, I’ll just say that I hope to blog more in 2013 – and to do some blog-worthy stuff! I don’t think you’d really want to hear about my ‘The Inbetweeners’ marathon on Netflix, or how I managed to hurt myself 3 times this morning just walking into the office. Or would you?

Anyhoo, this week I have only one outgoing Mail Art package to show, but thankfully a handful of creative and colourful incoming pieces to share with you…

Mail Art Monday: December Catchup

November 18, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

It’s been a while since my  last Mail Art Monday post, and I’ve had a lot of catching up to do! Work commitments have left me with no time to blog, but I did steal some minutes to post out some Mail Art over the past month, and together with the masses of wonderful mail I’ve received I have LOTS to show you! Please forgive me for not writing much about some of these – they are all VERY appreciated, and I have enjoyed receiving and studying them all. But, y’know, it’s Christmas Eve, and there’s a lot to get through. So [...]

Mail Art Monday: Pretty Patterns

October 1, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

You may (or may not!) have noticed that there was no Mail Art Monday post last week. A business trip to London filming for an excitingly big client kept me busy and away from my postbox, so I’m playing catchup this week. So, here we go… OUTGOING I don’t have too many outgoing pieces to show you this week, because I’ve just been too busy to send them out, so here’s a few pieces that I sent a while ago, and should have arrived at their new homes by now. A little while ago, Emily Garrison sent some fabric flowers to [...]

Mail Art Monday: ZKK2 comes to stay

September 3, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

September already?! It’ll be Christmas before we know it! In the meantime, here’s a run-down of the mail I’ve been sending and receiving this week… OUTGOING My outgoing mail has been a bit quiet this week, with only a handful of envelopes setting off. These two went to penpals in the U.S… … while this birdie went to a penpal in London. I have some new stencils that I’ve been using with inks and sponges to decorate everything (quite literally anything that’s left on my desk long enough!) These FREEPOST envelopes didn’t escape the stencils either! INCOMING Arac knows my [...]

Mail Art Monday: Bumper Edition

August 20, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Regular readers might have noticed that there was no Mail Art Monday post last week. That’s because time ran away with me, work got hectic, and I just didn’t get the chance… sorry about that! There is a silver lining though… this week’s post is a bumper edition! OUTGOING Katerina Nikoltsou (Greece) received some of her beloved blue, this time in the form of a Trashpo colour study. Suus in Mokum (Amsterdam), glen e. lizardi f. (Chile) and Terrie Purkey (USA) received slices of this collage… … while Nadine Wendell-Mojica , Vizma Bruns (Australia), James Chester and Thom Courcelle (USA) each received a quarter of this trashpo collage. Good friend [...]

Mail Art Monday: Neons

August 6, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Hello, lovely people, and welcome to yet another Monday. *sigh* It’s not all doom-and-gloom, though, because I have some more mail art to share with you. Huzzah! OUTGOING First off this week, M Nidham (Oman), Gene Perkins (USA), Stripygoose (UK) and Sevgul Sumer Dielemans (Belgium) received a quarter each of this Trashpo collage. Next up, another Trashpo collage slice-up, which went out to Diane Keys (USA), Katerina Nikoltsou (Greece) and Patricio – The Celestial Scribe (Brazil). And finally in the out-tray this week was this Orange Trashpo study for Carina Granlund in Finland. Seems it’s been a bit of a trashpo week for me! INCOMING Katerina Nikoltsou sent some more Greek [...]

Mail Art Monday: Plastic, music and a swearing rodent

June 11, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Things are finally starting to get back to normal after the wonderfully long bank holiday, a two day working week and a beer festival. So, I start off my long, 5 days of work with a rather awesome collection of art that’s been whizzing around the globe this past week. OUTGOING First off, 3 postcards made from a large collage found their way to Suus in Mokum (Netherlands), Laura Daniels and Stripygoose (both in the UK). Valentine Mark Herman received a set of 4 game themed Arty Slides for display in his upcoming exhibition in Sigean, France. Pen-pal Christa Sagmoe in the US received my [...]

Mail Art Monday: Puzzles

May 21, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

The outgoing part of this post is a little sparse this week. It seems the promising start shown by the Post Office when they first increased their prices has worn off, and things are being rather slow reaching their destinations now. Oh well, luckily my mailbox was far more productive this week… OUTGOING Susan Walker was a lucky(?) recipient of some Mail Art from me this week, with this machine stitched collage postcard. I seem to have inadvertently announced both my jean size, and the fact that I love a bit of a bargain. Mail Art can be very telling, [...]

Mail Art Monday: Stitched

May 7, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Another busy week for postie, and along with Royal Mail’s price hike, they seem to have upped their game with delivery too! Some super fast postage has been going on all over the world for my humble little mail art cards. OUTGOING An exception to the fast delivery theory, Vizma Bruns in Australia finally received my third and final sketch sent from our holiday a couple of weeks ago. This one is of the Marble Church at Bodelwyddan. Vizma also received this Wonder Woman embroidered card that I sent a week or so after the first card. Vizma shares my [...]

Mail Art Monday: Monsters

April 23, 2012 in Mail Art, Slideshow

Hello everyone! Did you miss me? I had a lovely birthday and anniversary, and spent a cold but awesome week traveling around the north of Wales, England and Scotland. Maybe I’ll find time to do a little blog and share some photos with you. For now, though, I have to catch up with my Mail Art Mondays, having missed last week’s! And it’s a MONSTER!… OUTGOING I owe Tarah – Miss Thundercat a lot for introducing me to IUOMA, and opening up my mailbox to a world of Mail Art, quit literally! So, the least I could do to thank [...]
